Unfortunately the Cath lab did not go as planned and Zeke will have to undergo surgery tomorrow morning. What the team discovered was a stenosis in the tricuspid valve that is impeding adequate blood flow into the right atrium. This coupled with a right atrium that is stiff and small, the inadequate blood flow is causing excessive pressures and fluid leaking into Zeke’s body causing him to be puffy and overworking his heart. The heart is unable to get the adequate blood flow needed to send to his lungs. According to the team this surgery may not be as long but it will also depend on how Zeke is in the OR.
There are numerous risks with Zeke undergoing another surgery. Please pray for wisdom for the team and a better outcome for him overall that sees him improving from his current state. Pray for our hearts as this is hard to watch him walk through. Pray that they are able to close his chest and he will not need to come out with an open sternum. We continue to hope in faith for God to heal our boy. Thank you for standing with us in prayer.
