A Harder Day
December 21, 2022
Today was a harder day for Ezekiel. The surgery went well and his breathing and lung capacity have improved. The incision on his side as we learned today is much more painful than the incision on his chest as he feels it every time he breathes. He was quite unsettled all day and had very little sleep which is not good for his recovery. His pain meds have been increased and his weans from the other meds have been paused. The combination of trying to wean after surgery and managing pain was too much for him. The good news is we are moving in the right direction. Unfortunately his blood clots in his neck veins have gotten bigger. This will require a consult from the thrombosis team to determine what other medication they can include to help break apart these clots. As always trusting in Almighty God with all of these worries and concerns.
Please continue to pray he is able to recover well from this surgery and his pain medication is managed well by the nurses. Also pray the clots begin to break up as they should.
1 Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
