Cath Labs

We are on day 3 of chest closure with no major life threatening incidents which is a huge praise report, however Zeke’s blood pressure is of concern to the team. His pressures are quite unstable and whether he is handled or not his pressure will drop he or will become hypertensive (high blood pressure) needing meds to stabilize him. It’s not clear what is causing all of this and this is delaying his extubation from the ventilator. So a request has been submitted to take him to the Cath lab on Monday for a diagnostic procedure to check on blood flow, pressures and oxygen levels in the heart. This will hopefully give the team a better understanding what exactly is going on in Zeke’s heart. He is still needed to diurese and requiring blood products which is another concern. Hematology will be consulted to see if there is something being missed in his blood. Please pray for wisdom for the team to figure out some of these problems and for Zeke to begin the process of extubation and weaning of the drug support.
