Discharged From the Hospital

Bu and Ezekiel have been discharged with an oxygen saturation machine for Bu to monitor his oxygen and heart rate. Right now the assessment is to see how well he handles breathing on his own with the way his heart has formed. Current steps are to have weekly appointments and reevaluate in 6 weeks how his heart is handling pumping for his growing body.

Buhle and Ezekiel are staying in a condo, about 20 minutes away from Sick Kids Hospital. They are so very thankful to the young lady who has offered them a room to stay. This has been an answer to prayer for them. Buhle is thankful for this as she then is able to not have as many disruptions when trying to care for his needs. However the stress of checking in on his vitals is heavy but she continually tries to rest in God's gentle care for his every breath.

Ezekiel's Heterotaxy (right atrial isomerism) has also revealed what the cardiologist suspected that he has no spleen. This is crucial for young babes and toddlers as it protects them from infection. So they have started him on a round of antibiotics. he will get his other organs assessed tomorrow as there is some concern that there are other deformities that occurred and may need to be corrected surgically if at all possible. Please pray that he does not need general surgery at this stage. It would put extra stress on his already deformed heart. Thank you for all your love and support and prayers.
