Discharged to RMH
I want to start this post by saying thank you. Thank you for your faithful persistent prayers for Zeke and our family. We are so grateful. Today is truly a day to be testifying God’s goodness in Zeke’s life and rejoicing for the life in our little boy. A little over 3 weeks ago Ben was told to fly in as Zeke had taken a turn for the worse with a failed right ventricle and no kidney function. Today I got to take him back to RMH with follow ups happening over 2 weeks to see how he is progressing and to make sure there are no new issues arising before we get transferred back to Calgary.
It was a longer discharge than I was hoping for as we waiting for Zeke’s many meds to be prepared by pharmacy. And had the different teams reaching out to touch base on what followups would look like. In the end Zeke was extremely fussy as he missed a nap which did not help but we are no longer in a hospital room and can have a solid night of uninterrupted sleep, for which I am grateful. The plan moving forward is to have the team here monitor Zeke. We will have appointments with neurosurgery, thrombosis, cardiology and the nutrition team. Once they have completed their tests and deem it safe for Zeke to travel we will be flying home. The other areas that require monitoring and no tests we will have to get signed off by cardiology then care is transferred to our cardiology team back home.
It was bittersweet to say goodbye to Ben and the kids as they flew out today but my heart was encouraged with our discharge and the hopes that it will not be long till we are back home. Our God is sovereign, faithful and true to answer prayers and He has shown that in the life of our son. We thank Him for his goodness and steadfast love that endures forever.
Philippians 4:4-8,23
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit”
