Leaving the Hospital!
April 1, 2022
We are leaving the hospital tomorrow! I am so excited to be going back to a bit more of a normal controlled space where I can set up a routine for Ezekiel that does not include machines or monitors constantly alarming. And I can get more than two hours of sleep! We got the green light from the team this morning on rounds and will be monitored for one more night before we leave. We still have the stitches from his sternum that must be taken out and the PICC line removed. All this happens this afternoon. He has had no bloody poops, Praise God and is allowed to feed with no restrictions!
We are not going back to the island just yet and have to stay near by Sick Kids for his out patient assessments. God has so blessed us with an amazing team at Sick Kids who have all been so kind and done a wonderful job of caring for our baby boy. The journey has just begun for Ezekiel with his next surgery lined up for when he is 6 months. This is the beginning of the actual heart repair they will try and do.
The team will begin planning with us what routine visits will look like and when we are able to go back to the island, as he has to be seen quite often. Please pray we are able to figure out the logistics of this ensuring Ezekiel gets the proper care. Pray also that the BT shunt does it's job well for the next 5 months and does not clot. Also, that we don't encounter complications with it and for the journey ahead for the cardiac team as they figure out the best route to take regarding his next surgery. We thank God for his faithfulness thus far and are thankful for his saints who have joined in praying for our baby boy.
Ephesians 3:20-21 "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and I Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen"
