Out of Surgery

He is out! I just was able to see him. The surgery went well. The BT shunt is in and after they were done and tested it out, he started with very low oxygen levels. They waited a while in the OR to figure out what was wrong. They found that he had a blood clot in the shunt. They cleared it and are going to be a bit more aggressive with blood thinners so as to prevent further clots. They said they will be on the lookout more in the next couple of days to make sure that no clots develop. He did not have to be on the ECMO machine!! Praise God because this had its own complications and risks!
