Slow and Steady

November 19th 7:00pm

This is pace the team has used to describe Zeke’s progress. He is stable for now but fragile. There was no addition of extra supports needed over night or during the day today but he is still heavily reliant on what he has. His brain monitoring has been scaled back somewhat with the leads attached all over his head being removed. There is not much that can be done other than to be responsive to what he needs, blood products to increase palettes and help with clotting and attentive management to his pain. His temperature is still something that is being addressed constantly with a cooling blanket placed under him. He is much more swollen today but this was to be expected and cannot be addressed until he is not heavily reliant on the inotropic meds.

His nurse Kathy today was very encouraging and let me help with some of the care that involved removing the brain probes and cleaning him. This was so helpful for my mama heart.

Pray for continued stability as his heart muscle learns to adapt to his new physiology. For no additional intervention needed. And stability in all his stats.

Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
