The joy of the Lord is my strength

There’s a weariness of the soul that can settle in when you’ve been going through a season of suffering and trial for a while. But the Lord has been reminding me that his strength is sufficient for me and for my family and his power is made perfect in my weakness especially when I feel like I’ve reached my end. Our faith and trust in God’s goodness and love empowers us to endure the trials we face. God has been constantly pointing me to His word and helping me remember that not only is He near to the broken hearted but He hears and answers prayers. He has not forgotten us and is at work in our lives producing endurance, character and hope.

Zeke has been doing well at the house although last night was a difficult night of rapid breathing and fussiness. There are things I need to be watching out for as we’ve transitioned to the house. The hope is there wouldn’t be any events that would land us back in the hospital and so I’m asking you to pray. Please pray that his clots in his venous, artery and jugular would remain stable and that the blood thinners he is on would remain at a therapeutic level. We'll be getting those levels checked next week. Pray for his blood pressure to remain stable and his rapid breathing to cease. Pray for the bleed in his head to have stabilized and when neurosurgery does their ultrasound next week to find no advancement in the bleed. Pray for him to start eating or at least show interest in food and for him to start putting on weight. He’s lost a kilo of weight in under two weeks and this is a lot for a baby his age. Pray for wisdom regarding his access for the g-tube and stability and healing of his veins as they are heavily bruised and scarred, which is why they are unable to get good access. And lastly pray for me to continue to trust the Lord with Zeke’s life and find my hope and rest in our Heavenly Father. As always saints thank you for your faithful prayers.

Isaiah 26:3-4

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever for the Lord God is an everlasting rock”

Psalm 118:14-17

“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Glad songs of salvation are in the tents of the righteous. The right hand of the Lord exalts, the right hand of the Lord does valiantly! I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord.”

Praising God for all the good things He has done in Zeke’s life and continues to do. Praying specifically that He will stop the bleeding in his head, and also lower his blood pressure and slow his breathing. Also praying for him to eat and gain some weight back.

Thanks for the updates and hugs and prayers to you and your family that you continue to trust in Him, with whom nothing is impossible.
