The Right Direction

Overnight Zeke did well and didn’t need additional intervention. He’s been off the paralytics since 9am and has so far been tolerating being off really well. He is still sedated and will be weaned off sedation after they close his chest. He is having some abdominal issues that they are trying to resolve. An ultrasound will be ordered to ensure there isn’t a build up of fluid blocked and unable to drain from the line they have inserted.
The good news is they have been able to wean him off quite a bit from the inotropic meds and have now started lasix to help his kidneys get rid of the excess fluid in his body. It will be a while till he can be extubated but for now he remains stable. His temperature is still something that is a concern and still requiring bags of ice on his head, cooling bags and a cooling blanket. Overall Dr Moga who’s been caring for him this weekend is happy with the direction he is heading in. It’s a very slow progression but still in the right direction. We are so thankful for the different medical teams who have been so attentive to our little boy in triaging all manner of solutions to get him back to a healthy state.
Psalm 46:1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
