Trusting the Lord
Today Zeke's mixed venous was lower than normal and so was his hemoglobin. This is concerning because mixed venous oxygen saturation is a measurement of the amount of oxygen returning to the right side of the heart (a percentage bound to hemoglobin). The team is unsure why the mixed venous and hemoglobin numbers would take a drop from yesterday. They also noticed that his rate of breathing has increased which led them to do an xray and found haziness in his right lung. This means Zeke has another night in the icu and received a blood transfusion. The hope is that the numbers will increase after the transfusion but if not then an echo of his heart will be ordered in the morning to see what's going. His calcium and magnesium are still low and so he continues on supplementation till his numbers are stable. He is still throwing up with the constant sunctioning down his throat to rid him of phlegm. Please pray he is able to cough this out as best as he can.
Although these changes are concerning we are continuing to trust that Zeke is making the necessary improvements to eventually be discharged to RMH. Please pray his mixed venous numbers and hemoglobin increase and his magnesium and calcium levels come up. Thank you saints.
Psalm 46
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress."
